REcipes. Raps. Stories.
My name is Inja. I am a dad of one, a hiphop emcee and drum'n'bass host and I love cooking. I was brought up in Britain with a Caribbean background and most of my childhood was spent listening to granddad's stories about the Jamaican countryside before he fell asleep and burnt the gungo peas black in the pan. Now I write stories to music and create rap recipes you can dance to and hopefully, cook to too!
For me, food is filled with stories, with history, with memories. I wanted to share some of those here. As a young black father, I am also tired of the stereotypes surrounding dads not being able to cook properly, and black men, well, where do I event start on the stereotypes we get. Sod that.
So I'll be posting up the dinners I cook, my daughter's reactions, the stories about them and anything else that might come to mind.
The food will be simple, spicy, cheap and tasty. Whatever I eat, she eats. I just add the hot pepper sauce to mine afterwards.
